Join OVLC's Native Plant Specialist, Sophie McLean, for a native plant pruning workshop this September. Learn the ins and outs of managing plant growth in your garden with native plant health in mind. Sophie will teach when and how to prune to ensure your native plants stay healthy, wildlife is supported, and fire risk is reduced. The workshop will take place outside and will include pruning practice in a native plant garden.
After the growing season is over, while our native plants are dormant during the summer, and before the early rains, there is a short window for pruning native plants in the fall. To maintain a healthy native garden without losing the ecological benefits, it is necessary to understand how and when to prune.
In this workshop, Sophie will teach pruning techniques and you will have the opportunity to put your new skills into practice in the native garden at Birdsong Ranch.
All items are non-refundable, all sales are final.
All proceeds from this event support the OVLC's Rewild Ojai program.
