Join the OVLC for our second All About Ojai of 2024, featuring photographer Chuck Graham

Ojai Valley School Lower Campus, Greenberg Center
723 El Paseo Road, Ojai, CA 93023
Wednesday, April 17 | 6:30—8pm

With the Channel Islands, Santa Barbara Channel, coastal mountain ranges, the backcountry of the Los Padres National Forest, and the Carrizo Plain National Monument, we are fortunate to live in one of the most biodiverse regions in California. There's still incredible flora and fauna in these habitats, some of the rarest and most endangered in the state. Chuck Graham takes us on a visual journey into some of these unique biomes and the creatures that live there. These are places that deserve protection, because wild places are not wild unless wildlife exists.

Following the presentation, Carrizo Plain, Where the Mountains Meet the Grasslands ($25.00) and Paddling into a Natural Balance ($40.00) will be available for purchase and signing.

Chuck Graham is a freelance writer and photographer based in Carpinteria, CA. He’s been a beach lifeguard there for 30 years and has led kayak tours at the Channel Islands National Park since 1998. His work has been published in Backpacker, BBC Wildlife Magazine, National Geographic, Men’s Journal, Natural History, American Forests, High Country News, and Westways. His award-winning book, Carrizo Plain, Where the Mountains Meet the Grasslands, was released in January 2021. His second book – Hike the Channel Islands, was co-authored with John McKinney, and was released in Spring 2022. His third book – Paddling into a Natural Balance, Stories of Kayaking and Conservation around Channel Islands National Park, was published in November 2023.
