Join OVLC's Native Plant Specialist, Sophie McLean, for a native plant watering workshop. Learn the basics of native plant watering - when to water, how much to water, how often to water, and which plants to water. We will focus in particular on watering native gardens during the summer months. Leave this workshop with a plan for watering (or not watering) your native garden this summer.
Ojai's native plants are highly drought-tolerant and can often thrive on rainfall alone. However, gardens can be different from a nature preserve, so how do you keep them happy in your garden? Though many standard garden plants require frequent irrigation, Ojai's native species can often be quite sensitive to watering. In this workshop, Sophie will teach the how's, when's, and what's of watering in a native garden. This workshop will be held outside at the Ventura River Steelhead Preserve.
